Varese is a lively town located in Northern Italy, on a hilly terrain, rich with rivers and lakes. The marriage between art and nature, over the centuries, characterises the very soul of the city. At the beginning of the 20th century the “Art Nouveau” style flourished in different European countries, as a result also in the Varese area there are numerous Art Nouveau-style villas and hotels. “Sacro Monte” is the historic and artistic brillance of the region. In 2003 Unesco added it to the World Heritage List, as “cultural landscape”. Ever since, Sacro Monte has widened it’s reputation as a destination for visitors and pilgrimages.
